Neighborhood Spotlight
Nestled at the very top of Manhattan, Inwood is a neighborhood full of surprises! It’s a part of New York City that feels a little quieter and green compared to the bustling streets downtown, but it still has the city’s energy and flavor.
One of the coolest things about Inwood is Inwood Hill Park. It’s a big, beautiful park where kids and families can explore trails, play in the playgrounds, and even see some of the last natural forests in Manhattan. You might even spot wildlife like owls, squirrels, and birds! Check out the birds of Inwood to see what you might find.
Inwood is also full of great food. From cozy bakeries to family-owned restaurants, there are lots of tasty spots to try. You can find everything from Dominican empanadas to classic New York-style pizza.
If you love history, Inwood has that too! The Dyckman Farmhouse is the oldest building in Manhattan and shows what life was like hundreds of years ago.
Even though it’s at the “top” of the island, Inwood is easy to explore, with cool shops, friendly neighbors, and fun places to eat and play. It’s a neighborhood where you can feel like you’re in nature, history, and the city all at once!
